Cricket

Rules and Regulations:

  • Maximum of 15 players are allowed per team.
  • All matches will be played with the red ball. Hence , whites are compulsory
  • Tournament will be played in T-10 format, power play in T-10 format will be first three overs only two players should be outside of 30 yards.
  • Tie in the game will be resolved by a super over.
  • Teams should report 15 minutes before the scheduled time if the team is late by more than 10 minutes, the match would be forfeited to the opposition team.
  • 60 minute time limits – Bowling teams are forced to complete their 10 overs within 50 minutes.
  • Each innings is expected to last in the region of 60 minutes, and fielding penalties are often given against the bowling side if they have failed to complete the overs in the required time. This means they can lose one fielder from the outside of the 30-yard circle (used for powerplay) for the remainder of the innings.
  • Decision of Umpires and organizing committee shall be final and binding.
  • ICC rules will be applied in every situation.
  • In case of a catch, new batsmen have to face the next ball .
  • Organizers and umpires decision will be final and organizers’ decision will be held final in cases of clash between the two.

Football

Rules and Regulations:

  • Each team can register a maximum of 18 players for the entire duration of the tournament. Once registration of the players is done, no new players can be inducted into the squad during the tournament. ID cards are necessary.
  • Each University can register at most 2 teams.
  • The matches will be of 11 vs 11 format .
  • Each team has a maximum of 5 substitutions per match and once a player is brought off he cannot be substituted back into the game.
  • Each match will last for 40 minutes, played in two halves of 20 minutes each. The final match(es) will be of 60 minutes, played in two halves of 30 minutes.
  • The basic rules of the game shall remain the same and the offside rule is applicable.
  • If a player receives a red card or two yellow cards in the same match, he shall be dismissed from the game and will not be allowed to play in the subsequent match.
  • The match officials will be the highest authority and their decision will be undisputed and final.
  • Each team should arrive for their matches at least half an hour prior to kick-off.
  • If any team fails to show up for their match on time, the opposition will be awarded a walkover (3-0 win) and be declared the winner of the said match.
  • In case of a draw in the knockout stages, there will be no extra time and the game will go straight to penalty shootout. FIFA Rulebook will be followed unless mentioned otherwise in the rulebook.
  • In case of any discrepancy, match official’s and organizer’s decisions will be final. These are the tentative rules that will be followed. The organizers can change the rules according to the conditions.

Basketball

Rules and Regulations:

  • FIBA rules applicable.
  • 10 minutes each quarter with a 2 minute break between the quarters.
  • Teams should report to the basketball court half an hour before their match. (Every team will be intimated of their match an hour prior.
  • All team players should have their kit(same jersey patternwith numbers) and shoes in order to play. Jewelry of any kind isn’t allowed.
  • Maximum 8 players are allowed in a team(5+3).
  • Every player should carry their College provided ID cards for the cross checks to their match venue before their matches.
  • Use of abusive or foul language during the play is prohibited as one may get technical fouls or expulsion depending on the referee and the organizing committee.
  • Change of players midst the tournament is not allowed.
  • Decision of Referees and organizing committee shall be final and binding.

Rules and Regulations:

  • Heats will be conducted for 100m, 200m and 400m (depending on participation), based on which there will be further heats before the finals.
  • -The other races won’t have any heats unless in extreme circumstances. Participants will be timed and results will be decided accordingly
  • -Sprinters should run in designated lanes and cannot cross lanes, throughout the race.
  • -In races with bunched starts, athletes can break inside. In the 800-meter race, they start from staggered positions and can break inside after the first bend.
  • -Before giving the ‘set’ command or before firing the starter gun, athletes cannot touch the other side of the start line with their hands or feet.
  • -Athletes should not obstruct other athletes during the race.
  • -If an athlete is obstructed, the referee may order the race to be held again, or he may ask the athlete to take part in the next round.
  • -Athletes may leave the track voluntarily before the race ends, but they cannot come back to the track else they will be disqualified.
  • -Maximum 3 participants from each college in any particular event. -Each individual can participate in a maximum of 3 events.
  • -An event may stand cancelled in case of insufficient participation and is in the discretion of the referee/captain.
  • -Decision of the referee is final in any case of discrepancy.
  • Long Jump:

  • The athlete begins running from his or her starting position and jumps, landing in a sand pit. There is a foul line, in the runup area, that the athlete has to be aware of; Jumping from beyond this line results in a 'foul jump'. Jumpers try to get as close to the foul line as legally possible before initiating their jump.
  • -No part of the athlete's foot should cross the front edge of the foul line. If, at the point of take-off, any part of his foot crosses the front edge of the foul line, then the jump is termed to be illegal or a 'foul jump', and does not count.
  • -The long jumper has three attempts to register his or her best legal jump. A foul jump accounts for an attempt. Only the farthest legal jump counts.
  • -The distance or the 'jump' is measured from the front edge of the foul line to the first landing point of the athlete, from the first point of contact.

Tennis

Rules and Regulations

  • Tournament consists of both singles and doubles (Mens).
  • Doubles partners should be from the same university.
  • Umpire decision is final , opposing the umpire decision causes you to lose the points( will be awarded to the opponent).
  • Players should report on time ,if not the opponent will be announced as winner(only 5 to 10 minutes can be spared).
  • Players are not allowed to play if they are not in the proper tennis wears (shoes,shorts, etc)
  • The draw for the tournament shall be made by lots.

Volleyball

Rules and Regulations

  • All standard FIVB rules applicable.
  • Maximum players allowed in a team-12.
  • “Rotation” rule will be followed during all matches, unless both the teams agree to play “fixed”.
  • The format of the tournament will be decided upon the registration of the number of teams.
  • The schedule of the matches will be announced in the watsapp group which we will be created in the time of registrations.
  • In case of any dispute during the match, the decision of the referees will be considered final and binding.
  • Any disciplinary violation by any member of the team will lead to disqualification of that team.
  • All the players will be required to show their ID cards before the beginning of the match failing which the defaulting individual will not be allowed to play.
  • Teams should report to the court half an hour before their match.
  • If a team arrives late by more than 15 minutes, it will be awarded a 2-0(25-0, 25-0) loss.
  • Teams should bring their own balls for practice. Match balls will be provided for the matches.
  • If there are any issues with the match decision of umpires and organising team and shall be final.
  • Similar rules apply to girls’ volleyball also.
Table Tennis

Rules and Regulations

  • Tournament consists of both singles and doubles (Mens). The rules as adopted by the Table Tennis Federation of India shall be followed.
  • The Tournament shall be conducted in singles and doubles for men Matches until Quarterfinals shall be played in best of three sets. Quarter Finals, Semifinals and Finals shall be played in the best of five sets.
  • Fixtures shall follow a knockout format.
  • For any in-game arguments, the referee’s call would be final.

Powerlifting

Weight Categories

  • Below 65
  • 65 kgs to 74 kgs
  • 74 kgs to 80 kgs
  • Above 80 Open Category

Rules and Regulations

  • Allowed equipment: Bands, Belts, Wraps (Knee and Wrist only), Chalk and Squat shoes.
  • Any piece of equipment can be declared not allowed at the discretion of the captain and the referee. (Prior permission is advised if it is not mentioned in the above list.
  • Commands: Lifters must wait for the judge's commands before starting and completing each lift. For example, in the squat, the lifter must wait for the judge's command to squat and then wait for the command to stand up before racking the bar.
  • Scoring: The lifter's highest successful lift in each category is added together to determine their total score.
  • Lifting order: Lifters are assigned a lifting order based on their weight class and opening attempts. The lifter with the lowest opening attempt weight goes first, and the lifter with the highest opening attempt weight goes last.
  • Drug testing: Drug testing will be there to ensure fairness and eliminate the use of performance-enhancing drugs.

Rope Skipping

Single Bounce:

  • Time Limit: 1 minute

Execution:

  • Normal skipping (for every one jump, the skipping rope should rotate only once)
  • Player will be begin with the timekeeper calling out “Set Go”
  • Speed Events will begin with audio call out, “Judges Ready, Jumpers Ready, Set Go “
  • Player can restart skipping if his/her rope got stopped in between the event and no extra time will be given for this

Call Out:

  • “Judges Ready, Jumpers Ready, Set Go, 15, 30, 45, Stop"

Goal:

  • To compete as many jumps as possible within 1 min

Speed Sprint:

  • Time Limit: 30 seconds

Execution:

  • Jogging Step Sprint ,Each time the rope rotate only one leg should touch the ground.
  • Player will be begin with the timekeeper calling out “Set Go”
  • Only right leg will be counted
  • Speed Events will begin with audio call out, “Judges Ready, Jumpers Ready, Set Go “
  • Player can restart skipping if his/her rope got stopped in between the event and no extra time will be given for this

Call Out:

  • “Judges Ready, Jumpers Ready, Set Go, 10, 20, Stop"

Goal:

  • To compete as many jumps as possible within 30 seconds

Note:

  • Broken Rope or Handle: If a rope or handle breaks, a repeat attempt is permitted after a suitable rest period of at least 10 minutes. However, a team or skipper may only have a maximum of two attempts at the same event. The last attempt determines the score

    Rules and Regulations

  • Players are paired using a computer program for each round of the tournament.
  • Number of entries shall determine the format of the tournament.
  • The Swiss scoring system will be used throughout the tournament.
  • Tie breaks shall be decided by using the Buchholz system, Sonneborn-Berger system or the number of wins(Shall be decided and informed later.
  • Players are expected to follow the rules of chess and behave in a fair and sportsmanlike manner.
  • Cheating is strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification.
  • Arbiter and the organizing team have the final say in the case of a dispute.
  • All the players are requested to bring their own chess boards and pieces.
  • All the players must have a chess clock app installed in their phones.
